in the World is Troy?
We
worked hard to find out where in the world the city of Troy is located. We
started far out in the universe and zoomed closer to Troy each day throughout
the unit. First we
found the Milky Way Galaxy. It was there that we came across our solar system
which
includes our planet, Earth. On Planet Earth, we located 7 continents and
zoomed closer to Troy when we homed in on our own continent, North America.
In North America we found our country, The U.S.A., and got even closer to our
destination when we discovered the Midwest, our region. We zoomed in even
further to find Michigan, our state, Oakland County, our county, and,
eventually, the great city of Troy. We created books with pages commemorating
each stop on our journey.

Students use City of Troy maps to complete a city scavenger hunt. They were required to locate Troy parks, schools, lakes, golf courses, and many city streets. |
